The following are the rules, regulations, and course of fire governing NPA Police Pistol 2 competitions held by the Jersey Pistol Club.
Pistols: |
- Any centrefireĀ pistol or revolver .354 to .455 calibre, which is approved
- One (1) spare magazine, or speed loader and a suitable holster
- No cross-draw or shoulder holsters are permitted.

Sights: |
- Any metal sights which may be adjustable, any colour
- OrthopticsĀ not allowed
- Competitor worn apertures of irises are not allowed
|
Grips: |
- Any wood, plastic or rubber grips which properly pit the pistol
- Orthopaedic-type grips are not allowed in this competition
|
Safety: |
- Any safety that is fitted must operate
|
Trigger: |
- In the opinion of the Range Officer the Trigger must be safe
|
Positions: |
- Prone
- Standing, unsupported
- Kneeling
- Sitting (both buttocks on the ground)
- Standing, left-hand barricade with pistol in the left hand
- Standing, right-hand barricade: with the pistol in the right hand
- One or two hands may be used throughout the competition

Ammunition: |
- Sixty-six (66) rounds to be supplied by the competitor
- Magazines to be loaded with 6 rounds only for each practise

Targets: |
- PS5/PAA
- One per competitor

Shooting Distances: |
- 10 metres
- 25 metres
- 50 metres
|
Rules: |

Course of Fire: |
- Sighting;
- Six (6) shots in five (5) minutes at fifty (50) metres, which may be scoped
- Practice 1, at 10 metres;
- Six (6) shots in five (5) seconds
- shot twice
- Practice 2, at 50 metres
- Six (6) shots prone
- Six (6) shots kneeling or sitting
- Six (6) shots left hand barricade
- Six (6) shots right hand barricade
- All in three (3) minutes
- Practice 3, at 25 metres
- Six (6) shots standing
- Six (6) shots kneeling or sitting
- Six (6) shots right hand barricade
- Six (6) shots left hand barricade
- All in two (2) minutes.

Notes: |
- ALL RELOADING MUST TAKE PLACE BEFORE CHANGING POSITION
- Other than the sighting series, no telescopes are allowed
- Revolvers will be loaded and holstered but not cocked until clear of the holster
- Self-loading pistols must be loaded and cocked but without a chambered round
- In Practice 2, once the pistol or revolver is loaded the competitor will have one spare filled magazine or speed loader and 12 loose rounds (in a pocket, belt or pouch) which must be loaded by hand during the practice.
- Full use must be made of the protective factor of the barricades
- When required the pistol must change hands
