The following are the rules, regulations, and course of fire governing the Police Pistol 1 Handicap Competitions held by the Jersey Pistol Club.
Pistols: |
- Any centrefire pistol or revolver .354 to .455 calibre.

Sights: |
- Any metal sights which may be adjustable, any colour.
- Orthoptics not allowed.
- No scopes are permitted.

Grips: |
- Orthopaedic-type grips are not allowed in this competition.
|
Safety: |
- Any safety that is fitted must operate.
|
Trigger: |
- In the opinion of the Range Officer the trigger must be safe.
|
Positions: |
- Both hands may be used to hold or steady the pistol.
|
Ammunition: |
- Thirty (30) rounds to be supplied by the competitor.
- Magazines to be loaded with six (6) rounds for each practice.

Targets: |
- PS5/PAA
- One per competitor.
|
Shooting Distances: |
- 10 metres
- 15 metres
- 25 metres
|
Rules: |
- Competitors will be handicapped using scores from the twelve (12) months.
- Shooters with a better average than 295 will start with a zero handicap.
- The maximum handicap is thirty-five (35).

Course of Fire: |
- Practice 1
- 25 metres
- Twelve (12) shots in two (2) minutes, including reloading.
- Practice 2
- 15 metres
- Twelve (12) shots, in strings of six (6).
- The targets will make six (6) appearances of two (2) seconds, with intervals of about five (5) seconds.
- One shot only to be fired at each appearance.
- This practice will be fired twice
- Practice 3
- 10 metres
- Six (6) shots.
- The targets will make three (3) appearances of two (2) seconds with intervals of about five (5) seconds.
- Two shots to be fired at each appearance.
- In Practices 2 and 3, pistols must be returned to the ready position before each appearance; i.e. 45 degrees below line of sight.
